Pasco, Washington - Joretta Lynette Rangel, also known as Jo, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023, at the age of 65 in Pasco, Washington. Born on October 9, 1957, in Omak, WA, Joretta was a loving and vibrant soul who touched the lives of many. Food was Joretta's specialty, and she expressed her love through her delicious dishes. Her fried pork chops, meatloaf, spaghetti, chicken adobo, and her famous breakfast spread were enjoyed by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Joretta was a woman's woman, with a passion for makeup and beauty. She was elected valedictorian in high school, showcasing her intelligence and dedication.
Joretta will be remembered as a generous soul. She was always willing to provide anything she could, whether it was the shirt off her back, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen. Her kindness and compassion knew no bounds.
Joretta is survived by her siblings, Colleen Vanderhoff and Denise Garner, and her children, Michael Rangel, Crystal DeLeon, Martin Rangel, and Corinna Mercado. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. Joretta was also blessed with 15 grandchildren, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Hixson. They are now reunited in eternal peace.
In her free time, Joretta enjoyed exploring Hobby Lobby, finding treasures at second-hand stores and yard sales, and indulging in some retail therapy.
A funeral service to celebrate Joretta's life will be held on Saturday afternoon, August 5, 2023, at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pasco, WA 99301. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share fond memories of Joretta.
Joretta Lynette Rangel will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, generosity, and culinary delights will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
