Joy Davidson Gage 84 passed away July 31, 2023. She was born October 30, 1938, in Walla Walla, WA to Robert Elwood Davidson and Patricia Lasater Davidson Wilkins. Joy attended Washington elementary schools in Marcus, Walla Walla, and Kennewick. The family returned to Walla Walla where Joy was enrolled at Pioneer Junior High School. She continued her education at Walla Walla High School.
When Joy was a senior in high school, her parents decided to move the family to Pleasant View, WA. Joy and her brother Robert W. Davidson were enrolled in school in Prescott, WA. After graduating from Prescott High School, Joy continued her education at Washington State University in Pullman, she was a member of Chi-Omega Sorority, graduating in June 1960.
In 1962 Joy married Donovan Patrick Gage in Walla Walla, WA. To this union were born Jill Gage Scheik, Jay Donovan Gage and John Robert Gage. The family lived in Pasco, Ellensburg, Seattle, and Walla Walla. When Joy retired in 2000, Donovan and Joy returned to Pasco to enjoy their retirement.
Joy cherished her years as a teacher, teaching business and office education. She taught in the following Washington schools: Ephrata, Kennewick, Ellensburg, and Walla Walla where she retired.
Trips to the Oregon Coast, the Washington Coast and Dallas, Texas to visit family were her favorite vacations.
Joy is survived by her husband Donovan at home, her brother and sister in-law Robert and Kaye Davidson of Austin TX, her granddaughter Shalyn Scheik and her husband Connor, her great grandsons, Christian and Taysom of Halifax, Nova Scotia, grandson Derek Scheick of Denver, CO, Carley, Rowen and Declan Scheik, Jay ad Marlene Gage and grandsons Jeffrey and Brandon of Trophy Club, TX. Son John Gage of Pasco, WA, granddaughter Nina Villegas, great grandsons Tacoma and Dalan Villegas of Kearns, Utah. Joy is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jill, Gage Scheik and a nephew Shane Davidson. Joy was surrounded by love and will forever live in our hearts.
