Joyce Faye Willis was born in Summerville, Texas on May 11, 1933 to Vanis Daniels Sr. an·d Ida Lee Daniels (Cole). Joyce was the fifth of ten children. Six sisters, Lillie Mae Sparks (Henry Sparks), Margie Marie Raines (Russell Raines), Christine Galyen, Delores Groce (Bailey Groce), Jannie Daniels, Bobbie Jean Cobb (David Cobb) and three brothers Vanis Daniels, Jr. (Barbara Daniels), Edmon Daniels (Hazel Daniels) and James Morris Daniels. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, their husbands, her brother James Morris, grandson, Garnet S. Willis, Jr., her first husband, Clinton Goree and second husband Johnny Willis, Sr.

She graduated from Perfection High where she was one of the star basketball players on the girls basketball team. Later she moved to Pasco, Washington with her family where she was employed as a cashier for many years. A few things she really loved doing was fishing with her sister Delores, spending time with her two brothers Vanish and Edmon, attending church, bingo and the casino. She also loved watching the Warriors and her favorite player was Stephen Curry.

(deceased), Cynthia Delores Howard, Hazel Jean Gantz (Kenneth Gantz, deceased), Sandra Kaye Simmons (Paul Simmons, deceased), Clinton Bernard Goree (deceased), Cecilia Faye Randolph (Barron Randolph, Sr.), Joe Leonard Goree, Lewis Edward Goree (deceased) and Garnet Sinclair Willis. She also leaves to cherish 24 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and godchild Maya Ellis.
