Remembering Karen Lynn (Sheedy) Lepka

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Karen Lynn (Sheedy) Lepka, who was born on July 6, 1961, in Pasco, Washington, and passed away on March 28, 2025. Karen was the kind of person who made life a little brighter, a little warmer, and a lot more full of love.

She was a wife, a wella (grandma), a sister, and a friend—someone who wore many hats and fi lled each role with warmth, loyalty, and unconditional love.

Her kitchen was her kingdom, where she worked magic with simple ingredients and turned every meal into something special. From her famous homemade goodies to big family dinners, she made sure no one ever left hungry—and that everyone felt welcome.

Karen's love wasn't just for people. Her home was also full of furry companions, each one adored beyond measure—Daisy, Coco, Pebbles, Minnie, Chiquita, Mia, and Callie. They were more than pets; they were her family, and she cared for them with the same warmth and tenderness she showed to everyone.

Karen also had a playful side and loved the thrill of the lottery and scratch tickets. Whether it was the hope of a big win or just the fun of trying her luck, she always enjoyed the excitement that came with those little moments of anticipation.

We'll always remember the little moments—Karen laughing with a dog at her feet or sharing a quiet evening at home. She didn't need the spotlight—she simply made everything better just by being herself.

Karen is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, John Lepka; her daughter, Rochelle Ubay and son-in-law, Lorenzo Ubay; her son, Sean Lepka; her daughter, Ciara Lepka and her partner, Pedro Vargas; and her cherished grandchildren, Xander, Matteo, and Briella Ubay and Jordan and Melanie Vargas. Her sister Pam Breiman; and her nephews Bobby Simons, Justin Grimmett, and Scott Lepka. Her niece Sarah Lepka.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, JoAnne and Bob Sheedy, and her sister Patty Sheedy. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a kitchen full of wonderful memories that will be cherished forever.

A memorial service to honor Karen's life will be held at Einan's at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9353 W Clearwater Ave, Kennewick, WA 99336, on May 9th 2025 at 12pm.
