Obituary

Kaydell Corwin Bowles passed away on June 17th, 2024. Kaydell was born April 23rd, 1939, at his family's home in Osmond Wyoming to Corwin and Blanche Bowles. He was the second of 10 children. As a young boy the family moved to Salmon Idaho where Kaydell worked in the family dairy cleaning milk bottles and delivering the milk. He graduated from Salmon High then left for Seattle where he attended WSU while working at Boeing. Kaydell decided to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he was called to Germany where he served just short of 3 years and made many lifelong friends. Upon returning home Kaydell continued his schooling at University of Utah where he earned his degree in Metallurgy. During this time, he was set up on a blind date with Elaine Rowley whom he married for time and all eternity in the SLC temple on December 30th, 1964. The young couple moved to Kennewick Washington where they raised 3 children, George, Brenda, and Jason. Kaydell worked for Hanford for 9 years before transferring to Sandvik Special Metals where he retired from after 36 years. Kaydell loved to be outside, hiking, camping, gardening or his favorite fishing. He also loved genealogy work and went on several trips to find records of his ancestors. After retirement Kaydell and Elaine chose to serve another mission and were called to the Dusseldorf Germany mission. They loved serving the people of Dusseldorf and working on ancestral records.

Kaydell's life was exemplified by friendship, honesty, service, and love. He enjoyed serving others and helping anyone who asked. One of his goals was to always be found doing something good. He had a deep love and testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ.

Kaydell passed from this life with his granddaughter Caitlyn and his daughter Brenda at his side. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Elaine Bowles, parents Corwin and Blanche Bowles, his sister Gayle Bowles, and three grandchildren, Amanda Myhre, Joseph Leners and Richard Bowles. He leaves behind his three children George (Connie) Bowles, Brenda (Virgil) Leners, Jason (Kristina) Bowles, 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
