Keith Kendon Anderson

September 27, 1936 – March 25, 2025

Keith Kendon Anderson died peacefully in his sleep on March 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, faith, and an abiding love for family, friends, and community. Born in Pipestone, Minnesota, to Walter and Dorothy Anderson, he carried forward the resilience of his pioneer and immigrant ancestors. He believed in honesty, hard work, and thoughtful consideration for others.

A man of many talents, Keith earned degrees in pharmacy and hospital administration, yet his pursuits extended far beyond his profession. He was a musician, lending his voice and banjo to church choirs and gospel bands. His deep reverence for nature and Native American culture led him to the Boy Scouts, service as a missionary to the Navajo people, and traditional dance performances. He also had a passion for cowboy poetry, finding joy in capturing the humor, grit, and wisdom of the American West through his writing. An athlete as well, he excelled in fast-pitch softball, earning the nickname "Swedish Lightning."

Keith's faith in God and his great sense of humor were ever-present, bringing light to those around him. Having witnessed hardship firsthand, he served with the United Way in Tucson and the Tri-Cities, believing that strong communities must care for the vulnerable.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy; daughters, Kris and Dana; sons, Steve and Dennis; sister, Doreen; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Eric. Keith's legacy endures in the lives he touched—woven like a tapestry of faith, laughter, music, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by many.

A Celebration of Life service will be held May 3 at 2:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 1124 Stevens Drive, Richland, WA 99354. The service will also be live-streamed on YouTube.com, Central Church Richland.
