Lloyd was born to Murl and Dorothy Golden on August 30, 1927 in Ute, Iowa. They later moved to the Sunnyside Area where Lloyd continued to live until recently moving to Rufus, Oregon. He was a retired member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 1849. He worked at several dams up and down the river as well as the Hanford Project for over 25 years. Lloyd was a lifelong fisherman and was known and respected by all the other dedicated fisherman at Vernita, McNary and John Day. There is no doubt that the decline of salmon on the Columbia River could very well be due to Lloyd?s skill with rod and reel. Lloyd was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his sister, Charlene LaGrandeur and husband Ken; Brother Dwayne and wife Aldora; daughter, Renee Chafin and grandsons Chris, Brandon, and Nick; daughter Teona Stemp, husband Bruce and grandsons Cory, Chase, Catlin and Trek; son John Snedden, and daughters Heather and Nikki; son Jim Snedden; son Randy Golden and grandchildren Jeremy, Randy, Stacy, Tabatha and Tiffany; Numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and good friends both on and off the river, and last but not least he is survived by his best friend and loyal companion who never left his side his dog, Smokey. Lloyd held a special place in all of our hearts and made all of our lives better by being part of them. We will miss him everyday but rejoice in the knowledge that he is forever fishing on a calm and sunny day. Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Friend, We love you. Sleep well. There will be a graveside service Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, Washington, at 11:00 am. Hillcrest Memorial Center, Kennewick, is in charge of arrangements.
