Lois Loraine Hoffer Angel, age 61, died Thurs. June 4, 2009 at her home in Pasco, WA, surrounded by her loved ones. Lois was born Feb. 10, 1948 to parents Orley Robert and Martha Lois Shepard Miller in Paola, Kansas. On Feb. 19, 2005 she married Ben Angel. She has lived in the Tri-City, WA area for 28 years. Lois was raised with her brother by her grandparents until age 7. Thereafter they traveled with their father to cities including Alturs, CA, Carlin, NV, and Sparks, NV. Lois graduated in Sparks, NV in 1966. Not long after that, in 1980, she settled in the Tri-Cities to raise her 3 sons. Lois is known by many as a very loving, tough, feisty, proud woman with a very contagious laugh. Lois' career as a waitress included service at Sambo's, Shari's, Little dogs, the Spudnut Shop, and most recently at Denny's. Lois has been known to throw pennies for tips back at customers, and for a lot of her long time regulars to say "if you need coffee, get it yourself!!". Her other loves included her animals, reading books, doing crosswords and music. She enjoyed her flowers and Gardening. She was proud to have earned three secretarial degrees in 1993 from CBC. Lois is survived by her husband, Ben; sons, Chuck Tacie Fitch; Michael Cherie Hoffer; Robert Roseanna Hoffer; daughter, Staci Slape; eight grandchildren, and brother Kelsey Angela Miller. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and a baby sister. Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Center, 9353 W. Clearwater Ave., Kenn. on Friday, June 5, from 4-7pm and Sat.
