Lori Cristine Brown was born in Richland on November 17th, 1970 and left this earth much too early on January 1, 2022. Fifty-one years was just not enough. There was so much more traveling and adventuring that was to be had. Lori lived her whole life in the Tri-Cities, but mostly called Pasco home. She attended school in Pasco and that's where she met the love of her life, and many of her cherished friends. Lori met her husband, Harvey, in high school. Their relationship was put to the test when they were just barely adults when they were facing her first cancer diagnosis. At 19 she fought and overcame ovarian cancer with Harvey by her side. They married in 1991, and celebrated their 30 year anniversary this past May with those years filled with so many great memories. In 1997 they welcomed their son Jordan. No one mattered more than her family. Lori spent most of her career working for a local surgery office, and there she made many friends that she loved and cherished. The blessing that she didn't know she needed came when she applied and was awarded her most recent job at Washington River Protection. She told family after the interview that they were "her people" and she was right. Lori was generous with her time, her smiles, and her advice. Fast to make friends that she worked hard to keep. She fought for what she believed in and did not back down when those beliefs were challenged. She had integrity. Lori was someone who made the world a better place. She was a planner and an organizer. It didn't matter if it was a family reunion, camping trip to Hood Park, or a cruise to the Caribbean if she was going it would be organized. And she would have a new wardrobe packed to go. Lori loved to travel to many favorite places. Her favorites included Disneyland, Lincoln City, the Caribbean, and any campground that she ever visited. Just shy of celebrating her 30 year cancer free anniversary Lori was diagnosed with an incurable cancer, peritoneal mesothelioma. The radiation treatment that cured her of the first cancer would later claim her life. She fought hard for over two years not willing to give up, which was an inspiration to those who loved her. She is survived by her loving husband Harvey Brown, and her son Jordan. She is also survived by; her parents Dan and Sheila Stroud, Lyla Koker. Her sisters Tiffany McCormick, Danielle Hole (Richard), and Kelli Madrigal (Pablo). Her brother Michael Stroud. She is also survived by her in-laws who were her other set of parents and siblings: David and Virginia Ortiz, Jenny Streck (Andy Flynn), Jeff Brown, and Charley Brown (Christina). Lori was known as Aunt Lolo to her nieces and nephews, which was a title she coveted. Often taking them on trips, outings, or just making memories in her own backyard camping in tents. She was aunt to Whitney, Tyler, Alex, Alexis, Christian, Danielle, Ashley, Ronnie, Zach, Ocean, Athena, Tamara, David, Holly, and Charley as well as great aunt to Emersyn, Kaydence, Bennett, Katalaya, Ryan, and the newest still to come. Lori is preceded in death by her grandparents Glen and MaryLou Stroud, Lloyd and Shirley Vooge, Tom and Gerry Rice: Uncle David Vooge. She also lost a good friend Joe Carroll who fought a similar battle. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff who cared for Lori at the Tri-City Cancer Center, the Tri-City Chaplaincy Hospice House, and to Dr. Gamboa, Michelle Froh, and Jason Paslean.
