In Loving Memory of Lori Ann Murray (Rogers)

Lori Ann Murray, 34, passed away on Friday, December 29, at Swedish Medical Center from end-stage liver failure. Born on December 31, 1988, in Arcadia, Florida, Lori spent most of her life in the Tri-Cities, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Lori is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Murray, and her brother, James Daniel Rogers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ronnie Daniel Webb, and Karen Marie Rogers, as well as her grandparents, and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lori's passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by her husband, her entire family, and her friends.

After graduating from Hanford High School, Lori embarked on a career in retail before transitioning to the world of banking. She dedicated years to Banner Bank before taking a step back in 2023 following the sudden loss of her mother.

Lori's greatest love was her husband, Mark, whom she met through a mutual friend in 2009. Their inseparable bond led to a beautiful marriage in 2017 on a cruise to Alaska, surrounded by their most treasured loved ones. Lori and Mark lived together in their home in Pasco. They shared a passion for life, enjoying RV camping, socializing with family and friends, attending events like Rad-Con and Pirate Fest, paint nights, relishing in music concerts and movie nights together.

Animals held a special place in Lori's heart, stemming from her teenage years spent riding horses with her mom. Lori and Mark continued this love of animals, they had Cinder and Coal, the pups, Ash and Ember, the cats, and Smolder, the snake they adopted from their nephew Conner Hofstad.

Lori's infectious laugh and bubbly personality were constants, even during her toughest days at the hospital, where nurses spoke of the light she brought to the halls. She was funny, kind, and thoughtful. Lori lived life to the fullest, always wearing a beautiful smile. Lori's generosity extended to the very end, after her untimely death, Lori was able to donate her eyes and the gift of sight to others in need.

Lori's difficult journey began a little over a year ago, when she confronted the profound realization that her lifestyle had negatively impacted her physical health. All of this coincided with the tremendous grief of losing her beloved mother Karen. Determined to reclaim her health, Lori embarked on a journey of ceasing drinking and wholeheartedly embraced the challenging directions given by her doctors, demonstrating her commitment to live.

As recently as a few weeks ago, Lori received the news that because of her dedication to stop drinking, following the doctors' orders, the doctors felt if she continued to live a healthy alcohol-free life, a liver transplant was not going to be necessary. What a relief, Lori and her entire family felt. It was just a few days later, due to no fault of her own, Lori's health shifted and she was airlifted to Swedish Memorial in Seattle. Lori's physical appearance didn't match her internal health, this baffled the experienced ICU nurses, doctors, and transplant team. Her strength, laughter, wit, and vitality were a testament to her resilience and the efforts she had taken to invest in her health.

Very quickly, Lori was placed near the top of the transplant list. She faced the uncertain journey with courage, and optimism, making it look easy. Lori personally took the call that she was matched for a liver and was eager to get to the next step in the fight for her life. Tragically, her health deteriorated rapidly and the once-promising prospect of a liver transplant became unattainable. Just two days shy of her 35th birthday, Lori's bubbly spirit succumbed to the relentless grip of her disease. Mark and family are still in shock in this ugly turn of events. Her journey is a lesson on how fragile and fleeting our lives truly are.

The love showered upon Lori during her illness speaks volumes about the impact she had on those around her. Her husband, aunts, cousins, mother-in-law, and father-in-law never left her alone during her fight in and out of the hospital. Mark's sister was a tremendous help with her medical connections, understanding, guidance and support.

Lori's infectious laughter, kindness, and generous spirit endeared her to all, creating cherished memories that will be held close to the hearts of those who loved her. The void left by Lori's passing is immense, and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and anyone who had the privilege of sharing in the light of her vibrant personality. May she rest in peace.

Lori's Celebration of Life will be held on January 27th, 2024, at 2pm at Hillcrest Funerals in Kennewick Washington. After the memorial service, the family invites friends and loved ones to gather at the CG Public House next door. This will be a time for reflection, sharing stories, laughter, and celebrating the beautiful life of Lori Ann Murray.
