Lynn Jay Jensen passed away peacefully in his home on April 1, 2023, at the age of 67. He was born February 22, 1956 in Murray, Utah, to Jay and Lola Jensen.

Raised in the Salt Lake Valley, he grew up camping and was a lover of traveling and the great outdoors.

He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in the Virginia Roanoke mission. Following his Mission, he returned to Utah and began an apprenticeship as an electrician for the Rio Grande Railroad, where he worked for 42 years.

He was married to his wife Debbi "Lee" Peterson on July 7, 1984, following a very successful blind date set up by his Bishop. They went on to have two daughters, Shalee and Tahnia Lynn. In July of 1998, he and his family moved to Kennewick, Washington, at the behest of the Railroad, where he lived the rest of his life.

Lynn was a man of many hobbies. He loved to camp, tent or trailer it didn't matter (he woke up before everyone else either way). He loved hiking and exploring new places, and walking sticks he could whittle.

He was an avid and lifelong woodworker, crafting many pieces of custom furniture for his home. He also enjoyed forging and seemed to have watched every video that exists on YouTube.

One of his biggest life passions was gardening. No one needs to know the names of that many plants, or own that many shovels, but that's how you know its love.

The list of hobbies goes on and includes fishing, model airplanes, cooking, reading, geology, history, a general love of learning, etc., etc.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lee Jensen, their daughters; Shalee Sykes (husband Kevin Sykes, and two sons, Levi and Graham) and Tahnia Jensen (partner Jesse Merkle and his daughter Sophie), and sister Karen Seely (husband Glen Seely).

Hillcrest Funerals and Cremation is arranging the cremation, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
