M. Grace Fee (O'Banion) was born on May 23, 1928, in Wilburton, Kansas, with her birth recorded in Stebbenville, Cherokee County. Grace lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, residing in Kansas, Oklahoma, Washington, North Carolina, and Oregon. She passed away on December 24, 2024, in Kennewick, Washington.
Grace retired after a long career in retail sales, spending 22 years with JC Penney and working part-time at Hallmark stores. From 1992 to 1997, she proudly volunteered with the Coast Guard Flotilla and Umpqua Station in Reedsport, Oregon.
Grace had a love for traveling and found her greatest joy in spending time with family. She enjoyed walking, dancing, and reading, always embracing life with warmth and enthusiasm. A woman of faith, Grace attended First Presbyterian Church in Kennewick, Washington.
She is survived by her sister, Velma Lunsford of Mississippi; her sons, Bob (Kris) Door of Raleigh, NC, Vern (Bev) Van Zandt of Kennewick, WA, and Brian Van Zandt of Pasco, WA; grandchildren, Angie Door, Jason Van Zandt, Garrett Van Zandt, and Hollie Van Zandt; and great-grandchildren, Gracie Van Zandt and Oliver Van Zandt.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Ora Lee and Mary L. O'Banion (Harding); her brothers, Floyd and Clifford O'Banion; and her sisters, Etta Fae, Netta Mae O'Banion, and Wonetta Edna Burton.
In honor of Grace's memory, donations can be made to cancer and diabetes research organizations.
Grace's life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
