Nuestra Princesita

Obituary of Maite Rios Renteria

Our Little Princess

Once upon a time, on February 19, 2019, a little princess named Maite Rios Renteria was born, and the world was never the same again. From the very beginning, it was clear she was made of stardust and sunshine. Maite wasn't just the oldest of three siblings—she was their lighthouse, their tiny leader, and their sweet protector.

She had the heart of a queen and the spirit of a mermaid. Like her favorite princess, Ariel, Maite was curious, brave, and full of wonder. She loved swimming and running freely, her laughter brighter than the sun. Anytime she went out, she wore beautiful dresses, her favorite pink lipstick, and of course, a sparkling tiara. She was a true princess, inside and out.

Her little hands were always busy with crayons and colors, lovingly drawing pictures of her family—capturing her world through the eyes of a true artist. At home, she played the role of a little mom—tidying up, helping, and always caring for her younger siblings with deep love. Though she was only six, her soul felt wise and kind beyond her years.

She found pure joy in a warm plate of refried beans, rice, and fresh cow's cheese. And, like any true princess with strong opinions—she didn't like vegetables!

Recently, her royal family took her to Disney World in Orlando, where she experienced the magic she had always dreamed of, surrounded by castles, laughter, and wonder. She also had the joy of visiting the beach in Mexico twice, where the waves touched her little feet and the sea breeze wrapped around her like a hug.

Her home feels so empty without her. Her laughter still echoes in every room, her drawings are treasures tucked into every corner, and her footprints remain in every space filled with love. She leaves behind a kingdom with a hole that no spell or time could ever fill.

On June 14, 2025, Princess Maite gently closed her eyes forever, finally free from the pain that cancer caused. Although her earthly story ended far too soon, we believe she now swims in oceans of light, dances through fields of stars, and watches over her family with the purest, most loving heart.

Rest easy, little princess. Your kingdom misses you deeply, but your spirit will live on forever—painting our skies with love and soft pink sparkles.
