Obituary

MARY JANE TREVINO-DUFAY

Mary Jane Trevino Dufay, 69, departed from this earth to be with our Lord on March 23rd, 2024 in Springfield, OR, surrounded by family.

Maria San Juanita Trevino was born on May 1st, 1954, in La Grulla, TX, to parents Roberto and Angelita Trevino. She was raised alongside five siblings, Roy, Daniel, Martha, Robert and Rey. Her family moved from Texas to Washington State, as her parents worked in agriculture. It was here where she grew up and went to school. She later met and married Ernesto M. Sanchez Sr. Together they raised four wonderful children, Ernesto Jr, Delma, Gabriel, and

Moses.

Mary Jane was a devout Catholic. She was an active member of her local church in Crescent City and Brookings. She loved to pray and fellowship.

Her love for the ocean drew her to Crescent City, CA where she later met and married James DuFay, the love of her life and soulmate.

Mary Jane enjoyed her walks on the beach, cooking, and family gatherings. She had a humble, genuine and loving personality. She was a loyal wife with rare love and kindness. She was beautiful inside and out.

Mary Jane was an avid believer of higher education. She pursued her dream of earning her Associate of Arts Degree at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA.

Of all the numerous positions she held, (including Quality Technician at Lamb-Weston, Paralegal, Educator, and Interpreter), and stay-at-home mom was by far her favorite. Her children were her blessings and gifts from our Lord. She loved each of them and their families unconditionally. Her twenty grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren were her absolute joy!
