Mary Ann Boes passed away peacefully on February 7, 2022, at the age of 87. She was born October 15, 1934, to Lucille and Earl Rowe in Pensacola, Florida. She was the eldest of four siblings. Mary Ann was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she graduated from South High School. She was married to Russell Boes, who was also from Grand Rapids and was serving in the U.S. Navy. While Russ was stationed in Groton, Connecticut, Mary Ann had two children. The family lived in several different locations in Connecticut and in Albuquerque, New Mexico during Russ' 20 years of naval service before finally settling in Richland, Washington in 1975. Mary Ann was retired from the City of Richland where she worked for approximately 20 years as a secretary for the Richland Fire Department (a job she truly loved). She was an avid reader all of her life as well as a big fan of classic films.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Russ; son Rick Boes; brother Charles Rowe; sister Jane Wagner; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald and Dorothy Boes. She is survived by her son Kirk and daughter-in-law Jeanette Boes of Kennewick, Washington; daughter-in-law Nancy (Jeff) Caldwell of Hermiston, Oregon; grandchildren Mariah Boes (Pullman, Washington), Jaclyn Tricker (Sicily, Italy), and Kyle Boes (Hermiston, Oregon); three great-grandchildren; brother Robert Rowe and wife Juanita of Grand Rapids, Michigan; numerous nephews and nieces; and special life-long friends Joe and Peggy Leonardo of Ada, Michigan.
At Mary Ann's request, no memorial services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the American Red Cross.
