Monica
Vigueria Rodriguez
Jun 29, 1937 — Jun 11, 2024
Monica V. Rodriguez, a cherished resident of Walla Walla, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, at the age of 86.
Monica was a beloved figure in her small town, known for her warm presence and friendly nature. It was rare for her to go out and not encounter someone she knew.
Throughout her life, Monica contributed significantly to the community. She owned a restaurant, worked at Nelson Irrigation, St. Mary's Hospital, and Banner Bank, and dedicated countless hours volunteering at DeSales High School and cooking for various fundraisers.
Her love for cooking, crocheting, spending time at the coast, and the occasional trip to the casino brought her joy and formed the core of her hobbies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rodriguez, and her grandson, Sid Juarez. Monica is survived by her seven children: Mary Hunt, Leroy Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez, Dianna Barnett, Minerva Williams, Sam Rodriguez, and Michael (TJ) Rodriguez. Her legacy extends to her 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Monica's family is deeply saddened by her loss but chooses to honor her memory by celebrating her life and spirit. A private celebration of her life will be held on her birthday, Saturday, June 29th, at DeSales High School for family members.
Monica will be remembered for her generous heart, her dedication to her community, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
