Myrelda Jane Hansen Taylor peacefully passed away June 8, 2016 at the age of 83. Her love for the Lord and her family defined her life. She was very obedient and willing to do all that was ever asked of her and more. Our beloved Mother, foster mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend was born June 8, 1933 in Warren, Utah to Walter Wayment and Myrtle (Thompson) Hansen. She married Samuel Richard Taylor in the Salt Lake Temple November 1, 1951. They have been married 64 years. They made their home in Clearfield Utah, Portland Oregon, and the Tri-Cities Washington. Myrelda was a good stay-at-home Mom, and enjoyed canning fruits and freezing vegetables. She loved to cook, making homemade soups, and baking lots of goodies. She answered the service calls for her husband's work, kept Dairy herd records, and typed the patriarchal blessings her husband gave. She loved to sew and quilt, and she also loved flowers; keeping a beautiful yard and garden. She exercised daily and dancing was a big part of her life. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in a wide variety of callings including serving 5 missions with her husband as his companion. She was a LDS temple worker for over 30 years. She was positive and optimistic counting her blessings and doing good for all. Seeing the good in all things her mottos was "The nicer you are to others, the nicer they are to you." Myrelda is survived by husband Samuel Richard Taylor ; son Scott R. (Edith), of Roy, UT; daughter Dona Marie (Steve) of Roy, UT; son Val J. (Cheryl), of Kennewick,WA; son S. Keith (Marianne) of Pasco, WA; son Chad H (Leah) of Yakima, WA. A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Center, 9353 West Clearwater Ave., Kennewick, WA. and Monday, June 13, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hanson Park Bldg, 8120 W. 4th Ave, Kennewick from 10:00-10:45 am.
