Pegge Anne Walker, 87, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, at the Hospice House in Kennewick, Washington.

Born on March 6, 1939, in Casper, Wyoming, Pegge lived a vibrant and wonderfully nomadic life. She loved to travel and often proudly shared stories of visiting all 50 U.S. states and residing in several of them throughout her lifetime. Deeply devoted to her family and friends, Pegge was known for her great sense of humor, her warmth, and a wonderfully stubborn streak that showed her strength of character. Throughout her career, she brought her sharp mind and engaging personality to roles in hospitality, retail, and as an administrative assistant supporting various professional services.

Pegge was never shy about making her opinions known. She would write to presidents, politicians, and anyone else she believed needed to hear from her, and she was nothing if not persistent. Her family sometimes joked that if a politician received enough letters from Pegge, they might eventually give in simply to get some peace and quiet. It was one of the many ways her independent spirit, determination, and wonderfully stubborn nature made her uniquely Pegge.

Pegge was a devout Christian whose faith was an important part of her life. She loved attending Bible studies and made reading her Bible a part of her daily routine. In her later years, she especially enjoyed going out to eat with her friends, sharing good conversation and laughter, and watching reruns of The Golden Girls.

Her family sometimes joked that if a politician received enough letters from Pegge, they might eventually give in.

Pegge was preceded in death by her father, John Robert Walker Jr., who tragically passed away at age 26; her mother, Doris Irene Daugherty-Boone; her stepfather, Gilbert Boone; her son, Richard Bachmann; her sisters, Patricia Walker-Vance and Sally Walker-Heuschkel; her brother, Donald Walker; and her granddaughter, Tiffany.

She is survived and dearly missed by her son, Steve Bachmann; her grandchildren, Britney and Brian; her four beloved great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and close friends.

Pegge will be laid to rest next to her sister, Patricia Walker-Vance, and near her mother, Doris, at Mt. Si Memorial Cemetery in North Bend, Washington. Per her explicit wishes, no formal memorial service will be held.

Pegge will be remembered for her independent spirit, quick wit, strong faith, love of family and friends, and the many stories she collected throughout her remarkable life.
