Our dear and beloved brother and friend, Peter L. Miller, 65, entered into rest in Richland, WA, on April 24, 2023.

Peter was born on February 3, 1958, to Robert and Rita (Lyons) Miller in Bournemouth, England. Peter started school in the suburbs of London, England. The family moved from England to Chicago, IL, in 1967, where Peter finished grade school in the Chicago suburbs and graduated from Glenbard East High School in Lombard, IL, in 1976. After graduating high school, Peter went on to study and earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In later years, Peter became a registered Professional Engineer.

In 1991, Peter made a move to Richland, WA, and accepted a position with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as a Senior Research Scientist where he continued to work until his retirement.

Peter was a man of such varied interests; he loved every type of music from opera to classical to rock and roll and, of course, was quite the rock star himself! Peter played bass guitar in a band for several years and enjoyed those moments with his friends. He loved snow skiing, fishing and camping with his dear friends, playing hockey, and even took up windsurfing and golfing for a time.

Peter was such a thoughtful and generous person to both people and animals; his love and devotion will never be forgotten. He quietly and with conviction "walked the talk" helping people and rescuing animals along the way.

Peter is survived by his brothers, James and Andrew Miller and his sister, Mary Brennan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rita Miller and his brother, Alec Miller.

At Peter's request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the charity of your choice to assist those in need (humans and animals).
