Obituary

Kent Morehouse passed away February 13, 2024, at his Pasco home. He was born April 15, 1947, to Elmer I. and Lillian C. (Lammers) in Nyssa, Oregon. He was the youngest of five children. The Morehouse family moved to Pasco when Kent was a few months old.

Kent was a graduate of Pasco High School Class of 1965. After graduating, he worked as a welder in the shipyards as a member of the Boilermakers Union. On July 11, 1970, he married Patty (Smith) in Pasco. Kent then joined the Carpenters Union and became a journeyman Carpenter-Welder. In 1976 he joined the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 598 as a Pipefitter-Welder until his retirement in March 2002.

Kent had numerous hobbies over the years. His greatest passions were team roping, building hot rods, and horseshoe art. A friend once said, "Kent could fix anything but a broken heart and the crack of dawn," He was a member of the American Cowboys Team Roping Association, the National Team Roping Association, and the World Series of Team Roping. He was also a member of the Retreads Car Club of the Tri-Cities. He enjoyed having breakfast with the other car enthusiasts at Andy's North and going to car shows.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Donna Kelly and Alta Skolrud.

Kent is survived by his wife, Patty; brother Irvin (Betty) Morehouse of Toppenish, and sister Ruth (Dick) Coffey of Pasco, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, at the Columbia Valley Grange #938, 6300 W. Court Street #64, Pasco, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tri-Cities Chaplaincy.
