Rita Mary Quast, 69, of Pasco, WA, passed away on March 12, 2023, peacefully at home. She was born October 27, 1953, to Henry and Frances Halverson. On November 20, 1971, Rita married Kenneth Quast. Rita and Ken had 54 years together having met when she was 14 and he was 16.

Rita worked for Kent Bagley as a dental hygienist for 15 years before retiring. For the next 7 1/2 years, Rita and Ken owned and operated the Tollgate Store and Pizza Parlor in Tollgate Oregon. When the time came to sell their business, they built a home on the mountain, where her parents had previously had a cabin. Rita split her time on the mountain by staying in Pasco with her parents. Rita became a full-time grandma, with she and Ken moving to Pasco. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

Rita started by watching Jakob play T-ball, then Hailey playing volleyball and basketball. When Tyler and Justin started football, she attended practice and games. As they grew older, she watched them wrestle, play basketball, and baseball.

Rita enjoyed relaxing with a good book, especially if it was written by Marie Force. She loved camping with family, whether in the mountains or on the Oregon Coast. One of Rita's favorite pastimes with Ken was riding in their Razor at Moses Lake, Juniper, or Coos Bay. Her favorite ride in the Oregon Dunes was to the beach and ending up at Spinreel for ice cream.

Rita is survived by her husband, Kenneth; son Brian (Charity), daughter Michelle (Michael); grandchildren Jakob, Hailey, Tyler, and Justin; great-grandson Aleksander; brothers Steve (Kris), Nils (Starla), and sister Susan (Ben); and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Frances and sister Rose Kirby.
