The family of longtime Tri-City, WA, resident Robert (Bob) Steven Newton celebrates his life of 96 years. His lively spirit, love of music and song, and sense of humor will forever be in our hearts.
Robert was born in Denver, CO, on October 18, 1928. A wonderful father, husband, and friend to so many, creating wonderful memories for us all. He worked hard and played hard. He was a proud member of the Brotherhood of Carpenters Union for over 55 years. His musical gifts of singing, playing classical saxophone, clarinet, and drums with his band, the Newtones, will always be remembered. He enjoyed many RV trips with several Good Sam Groups.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rochelle Marcene Newton. Also, his former wife, Ellen Newton Crocker, was the mother of his six children. Preceded in death by three sons, James, Marc, and Jerry Newton, all of Vancouver, WA. Robert is survived by Daughters Kay L. Campbell (Allan), Vancouver, WA, Susan R. Eggers (Albert), Cape Coral, FL, and son Robert J. Newton of La Center, WA. Ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
