Robert Wendell Knode was born on April 25, 1965 at Kennewick General Hospital to Randy Knode, Sr. and Pam Knode. Robert went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 12, 2026, after battling cancer. He leaves behind his wife Christy Knode. He was the proud father to daughter Ashley Knode, stepdaughter Carissa Bender, son Austin Knode and his Fiancé Tatiana, son Justin Knode and grandson Elijah, and his fur babies BeBe and Bella. He was a very loving Husband and an amazing Father.

Robert graduated from Kamiakin High School. He loved to play football and made the Tri-City Herald several times. He participated in the smoker program and loved to box. He was a passionate sports fan and enjoyed watching the Seahawks and Mariners play during his free time.

Robert did a short time in the Navy after high School. He then worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad, then spent many years working at Welch's, and finally working for the WA State Department of Corrections at Coyote Ridge Correction Center in Connell, WA. During his work career he made everlasting friendships and cherished those tremendously. He wore his uniform with pride and enjoyed going to work every day.

Robert also really took pride in his yard and had a particular way of taking care of it. He loved to travel, shoot guns, go boating, camping, fitness, and most of all the beach.

Robert was planning to retire next year and move out of Washington State with his wife and puppies, and settle in either Texas, Florida, or Costa Rica.

Robert will be remembered for his warmth and devotion to his family and friends. He was always there if someone needed a hand. He had the most beautiful smile and was a big teddy bear. Robert was able to give the gift of sight to 2 people by giving cornea and tissue. He is going to be missed tremendously.
