Roy Alvah Ransier Hillcrest/Bruce Lee Memorial Center Roy Alvah Ransier, 80, of Pasco died on March 10, 2008 at Valley General Hospital in Monroe Washington. He was born on April 1, 1927 to Alvah and Avis Ransier and grew up and attended school in Pasco. In 1944 Roy enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Radio Operator until his Honorable Discharge in 1949. Roy was very proud of his Military Service and spoke often of it in his later years. In 1951 Roy went to work at Hanford for General Electric and worked there as a Metallurgical Technician/Vacuum Specialist until 1969. In 1952 Roy married Marie Reyonlds and in 1971 Roy and Marie moved to Dahlgren, Virginia, where Roy went to work for the Department of Defense as an Electronic Technician. He retired from this position in 1992 and moved back to the Tri-Cities to be closer to family and renew old friendships. Roy enjoyed operating his Ham Radio, fishing, computers, family get-together's and spending time with his pets. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother Michael Ransier and his brother-in-law Bob McCarty. Roy is survived by his sons Stan Susie Ransier, Bruce Ransier of Colorado, daughter Linda Steve Strickland, sisters Rita McCarty, Patricia Mac Wells, brothers Charles Merry Ransier, Bruce Vicki Ransier, seven Grandchildren, seven Great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to the Franklin County Historical Society or the Benton-Franklin Humane Society.
