Obituary

Scott Brian Porter died Monday, December 4, 2023. He was born in Clarkston, Washington on September 22, 1959.

He attended public school in Kennewick and graduated from Kennewick High School in 1978. He attended Trend Business College and studied Computer Science and Technology at Columbia Basin College. He worked for Payless Drug Store in Kennewick for over 20 years and was in charge of shipping and receiving.

Scott had an amazing gift for assembling, installing, and troubleshooting electronic devices---DVD players, video games, stereos, laptops, computers, and printers. He was the family official Tech support Guru.

He loved his family very much and enjoyed all our family activities of reunions, camping trips, trips to the coast, firewood cutting excursions and going to the boat races.

Scott especially enjoyed spending time with his father working in the yard, harvesting grapes, and making wine.

He was an avid collector and scholar of rock and roll memorabilia, collectibles, trivia, and music, attending many rock concerts. He had an amazing collection of Tie-dye tee shirts.

Scott had a great sense of humor, from Monty Python to George Carlin to Mel Brooks. He especially enjoyed pranking his sister Lynn with bugs, spiders and other creepy crawlies, a tradition continuing from childhood to adulthood. He loved a good pun, sharing with his brother Alex.

He loved animals, especially cats, and they responded to his gentle soul with equal devotion and affection.

He is survived by mother, Janet, sister Lynn, brother Alex and his wife Kim, aunt Leah Stockton, aunt and uncle Donna and Dick Soderlind, and various cousins.

See you on the other side, Bro...
