Sharlyn Sue
Peale
Apr 21, 1941 — Mar 25, 2025
Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sharlyn (Shar) Sue Peale, 83, of Benton City, WA passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Everyone who knew Shar, knew she was a sassy yet very sweet lady who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life in the simplest of ways.
Shar was born in Sacramento, CA on April 21, 1941. She played many different sports throughout her school years and was also a majorette in the marching band for Sacramento High School, where she graduated in 1959. She then worked as a bank teller in those early adult years, and it was then, that she met the love of her life, Larry Peale. She liked to tell the story of how she picked up Larry that evening, while out having fun with her girlfriends at Mel's Diner. They were married on March 18, 1961, and moved to Richland, WA in 1965 where Larry began working for his dad in the auto repair business, while Shar ran the household.
Larry and Shar had two boys, Michael and Chris, and as many people know, those two boys were a handful! Shar kept them active and busy, often sending them outside to play while she kept the house in order. Shar supported Larry and the boys throughout many sporting activities and trapshooting events.
During those early years, Shar got into ceramics and was amazingly gifted, creating many different ceramic pieces. She made an entire nativity set, a full set of Christmas tree ornaments, and many other seasonal and special items. She also got into sewing, making clothes for the grandkids, Christmas stockings for each family member, and many other special and assorted items for friends and family.
In 1979, Larry and Shar became the owners and operators of P& K Auto Service in Richland, WA, and owned the business for 41 years. Shar became the bookkeeper and receptionist for P & K and made sure all the bills were paid while running a very tight ship. She even impressed their accountant with her accuracy and was consistently correct, down to the penny!
Shar's greatest love was her family! She and Larry enjoyed many family dinners, going to sporting events and spending time with each child and grandchild. She also enjoyed all the activities her and Larry did together on their own, including traveling, dinner and dancing. After retirement, Larry and Shar purchased a fifth wheel and traveled around the country. They made numerous trips to the Washington and Oregon coasts, and they also took some longer trips to Alaska, the East Coast, and through the Central US, site seeing and visiting relatives. They also took a bus trip with other retirees through New York and up into Canada, seeing Niagara Falls and Quebec. Larry and Shar were married for 54 wonderful years and leave a legacy of love for their family.
Shar is preceded in death by her husband Larry who passed away in 2015. She has missed him dearly these last ten years. Also preceded in death are her mother (Verna), father (Ed), and sister (Karen). Shar is survived by her sons; Michael (Debra) and Chris (Leiah), five grandchildren; Dustin (Teresa), Sheri (Jeff), Lydia, Josh and Connor, and ten great-grandchildren; Michael, Brooklyn, Olivia, Zoey, Maddie, Brody, Kyree, Preston, Titus, and Alice.
Shar was not one to bring attention on herself, so, following her wishes there will be a private family gathering in the coming weeks.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Tri-Cities Shooting Association, Rattlesnake Mountain Trapshooting Range (TCSA), and/or the Hospice House in Shar's name.
