Sharon Elaine Libby passed into eternal life with her Lord and Savior on May 18, 2024. She was born in Paterson, New Jersey on October 18, 1942. She was the daughter of William and Helene Timm who are both deceased. Sharon moved to California in 1952 with her family. After marrying Richard (Rick) in 1970 they continued to reside in California until 1992; then they moved to Nevada and later moved to Richland, Washington in 2005.

Sharon loved caring for her husband and family and even though she contracted polio at the tender age of six she was able to overcome her disability by being a tremendous wife and mother. Her oldest son, David, on numerous occasions, referred to his mother as "my hero" and David went on to say, "She is my example of what faith, hard work, and determination can do in your life."

Sharon served on the Board for the Post Polio Network in San Diego, California and fought vigorously for the rights of the disabled. She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout 27 States and enjoyed doing many crafts including crocheting and oil painting. Sharon wrote a book titled, THROUGH IT ALL, HE WAS THERE, which was published in September of 2009. Sharon was an active member in her church at Central United Protestant Church in Richland, Washington where she served as leader of the Young @ Heart Life Group Bible study that met on a weekly basis, and she was involved with the Global Impact Celebration that honored our missionaries both Internationally, Nationally and Local organizations for many years.

Even though handicapped at a very young age, Sharon persevered as a handicapped woman in an able-bodied world and faced many challenges throughout her life. Her walk with God enabled her to do the best she could on any given day. Sharon often said, "With God all things are possible." Finally, Sharon is able to leave her wheelchair behind and "walk" the streets of gold with her Heavenly Father for eternity. Sharon has always said, as stated in part in II Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Sharon is survived by her loving spouse of 53 years, Richard (Rick) George Libby. She was also blessed with two sons, two step-daughters, seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and a twin brother.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be graciously accepted in Sharon's name at: Central United Protestant Church, in Richland, Washington. Sharon will be laid to rest at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington, along with her husband because of his service in the U.S. Navy.
