With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shirlane Geneva Blanchard, a beloved wife, mother and friend, who departed this world on December 4, 2024, at the age of 84. Shirlane was born on September 10, 1940 in Twin Falls, Idaho, to her loving parents, Virgil and Mary Collins. Shirlane married the love of her life within a week of meeting Frank Blanchard, and together they shared a beautiful life, serving their faith and community. As a devoted pastor's wife, Shirlane embraced her role with grace and unwavering support, embodying love and compassion to all who knew her. After graduating from high school, Shirlane lived in Seattle, San Diego and Michigan before settling in Walla Walla and the Tri-Cities, where she lived for 55 wonderful years. During her time there, she enriched the lives of many through her creativity and kindness. Shirlane had a remarkable talent for sewing, painting, and crafting. Her passion was crafting puppets and working with the youth to produce puppet shows for the community. These hobbies brought her immense happiness and served as a creative ministry that she shared with her church, family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Shirlane's kindness, creativity, and devotion to her faith will continue to inspire her family and loved ones. She will be missed by her son Dennis (Angela) Blanchard, daughter Debra (John) Pruett, daughter Vicki Wall and daughter Arlane (Randy) Phelps. Shirlane's family would like you to remember that she loves her family and friends Bunches and Heeps and Barrels and Geeps. May she go into her eternal home walking and leaping and praising God.
