Obituary

Terry William Wetmore was born September 21, 1942 in Ryderwood, WA to Martha Matilda and Raymond Avery Wetmore. He passed away on October 27, 2018 at his home in Kennewick, WA surrounded by his family. Terry married Jacqueline P. Pranger on September 8, 1962 in Tacoma, WA. He served in the United States Navy from 1961-1965. Currently, two of his granddaughters are serving in the United States Navy which made him very proud. Terry began his career as a pastor in 1974. He was the pastor of Highway Tabernacle Church of God in Kennewick, WA for 26 years retiring in May 2016. He loved his time in fellowship with his church family. He filled his role as pastor from his heart, with passion and commitment, answering the call of Jesus when he said, "Feed My Sheep." Those under his care would see Jesus through him and his ministry...He fed, he led, he taught, he loved. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jackie Wetmore of Kennewick, WA; children Paula (Joey) Sonnenfeld of Auburn, WA, Sherry (Bob) Adamson of Milton, WI, Doug Wetmore of Kennewick, WA, Rob Wetmore of Kennewick, WA, Kathy (Norman) Samaga of Longview, WA; grandchildren Taylor, Gunner, Tyson, Bronte, Clayton, Stephanie, Ashleigh, Haleigh, Kapio, Tucker, Austin, Autumn, Averie, Arielle, Tajsa; great-grandchild Freya Rose; brother Raymond (Bernetta) Wetmore of Auburn, WA and sister Marlene (Fred) Clyde of Auburn, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; Martha Doros and Raymond Wetmore and in-laws; Alice (Kapio) and Richard Pranger whom he loved as a second set of parents. Terry's quiet demeanor, patience, compassion, forgiving nature, willingness to help, and open heart made him an incredibly caring and loving father and grandfather. Terry showed his love in the simplest of ways - through a smile, a gesture, a laugh. But he also showed his love in big ways - providing support and guidance during times of need, opening his arms at a moment's notice, and giving with sacrifice. His sense of humor allowed him to connect with others in a fun, loving way and for those who knew him, his laugh was infectious. He often put others before himself and was always eager for knowledge and different points of view.
