Theresa M. Longmeier passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025. She was born on April 22, 1954, in Toppenish, Washington, to Jeanne and Joseph Favilla.

Theresa grew up in Harrah, Washington, and attended White Swan High School. She later continued her education at Seattle University and Washington State University. On July 6, 1974, she married the love of her life, Jerry Longmeier. Together, they made their home in Benton City, Washington, where they raised their two children, Melanie and Michael.

Theresa spent many years as a rural mail carrier in Benton City, a role that suited her warm and friendly nature. She truly enjoyed visiting with people along her route and had a special gift for making friends wherever she went.

She found joy in the simple things and had a deep love for her children, grandchildren, kitties, and cattle. In her free time,

Theresa enjoyed scrapbooking, cooking, working outdoors, and traveling-always capturing special moments and creating memories. She was especially passionate about supporting youth through 4-H and FFA livestock projects. Theresa loved attending the shows and devoted many years as a volunteer on the Benton Franklin County Fair Market Stock Committee.

Nearly 19 years ago, Theresa was diagnosed with cancer. She faced her illness with remarkable strength, courage, and an unwavering will to live. When told of her passing, one friend simply said, "She was a true warrior." Theresa never gave up and continued to challenge the cancer until the very end.

Theresa is lovingly remembered by her children, Melanie and Michael; her son-in-law, Darren; her grandchildren, Jake, Katie, Ava, and Kaeden; her siblings, Nancy (Mike), Patrick (Diane), Bob (Sabrina), and Edward (Carol); her sisters-in-law, Donna Rae and Lois; her brothers-in-law, Garry and Bob; and her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents; her brother, Dennis; and her grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theresa's memory to the Salvation Army or the Humane Society.

A service to celebrate Theresa's life will be held on January 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Einan's at Hillcrest in Kennewick.
