William Godfrey
Peterson
Nov 9, 1943 — Mar 19, 2023
William (Bill) Godfrey Peterson, 79, of Kennewick, WA passed away at Chaplaincy House February 19, 2023. Bill was born in Aberdeen, WA to Alvin and Aune Peterson on November 9, 1943. Bill graduated from Hoquim High School (Class of 1962) and continued his education at Washington State University where he pursued his degree in electrical engineering. Bill lived in Portland OR where he worked for Bonneville Power as an Electric Engineer and held the position until he retired in Tri-Cities, WA. Bill had two daughters, Rachel Anne Peterson and Catherine Joanne Peterson. They spent a lot of time in the early years as a family at the Oregon Coast, Olympic mountains and British Columbia where they fished, camped, backpacked, and explored the outdoors. They had family rafting trips and road trips. He loved spending time with his daughters. When they migrated to Southern CA they enjoyed dining out, walks along the beaches, hiking in the hills and taking care of their pets. Over the later years they traveled to Mexico, Hawaii and Montana. He loved watching football and basketball with his close friend Gregory Bocek and his family. He was a die hard cougar fan! Bill was very knowledgeable in politics and taught his daughters to learn all sides and form their own opinions. He was a proud recovering alcoholic over 27 years and went to AA meetings regularly. Bill was very competitive. He was a great player of pool, shuffle board and golf. Bill will be missed by his friends and family. He was loved by his daughters Rachel and Catherine and they will cherish the many memories they made together.
