Ydelia Gomez Barron, 81, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family, Sunday May 6 at LifeCare Center in Kennewick after succumbing to complications from a heart attack at home. Ydelia was born October 14, 1930 in Thorndale, Texas to Miqaela and Antonio Gomez. She was the second to the youngest child of six children and she was one of two daughters. She was a member of the Kennewick Tabernaculo de Dios.
She was very independent and blessed with many years of health. She spent a great deal of time reading the Bible and praying daily. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and singing. Ydelia was truly a devoted mother who would go without for any of her children so that she could enrich their lives. Her faith and family meant so much to her. She was a pillar of strength to her family. She had a forgiving heart, no matter what anybody did to her. Although she didn't have much schooling, it was amazing how much life wisdom she taught her children. She greatly encouraged her family to strive for an education.
She is survived by her loving children and stepson; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Fri. May 11 from 4-7:30 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Center, 9353 West Clearwater Avenue, Kennewick. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Sat.
