Einan's at Hillcrest Hosts Community Dia de los Muertos Celebration
“We’ve been hoping to bring a Día de los Muertos celebration to our community for quite some time,” said Holley Sowards, Director of Operations for Einan’s Funeral Homes. “This year, everything aligned perfectly. We’re honored to provide a meaningful and inclusive space at Einan’s at Hillcrest – Pasco where remembrance, culture, and connection come together.”
The event’s Offering Celebration invites attendees to write messages to their loved ones and place them on a community altar (ofrenda), surrounded by marigolds, photos, and other symbols of remembrance. Families are encouraged to bring a photo of their loved ones to add to the altar.
In addition to the altar, activities will include an Ofrenda-Making Booth, Photo Booth, and refreshments station featuring pan de muerto and hot chocolate. For those unable to attend in person, parts of the event will be streamed live on Facebook.
“This is truly an event for everyone — whether you’ve celebrated Día de los Muertos before or are simply curious to learn more,” Sowards added. “It’s a day of joy, remembrance, and community.”
